One Year
Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Jan and I welcoming this little bundle of joy and insanity into our lives:
Without getting too mushy I will say that adopting Luanne was one of the best things Jan and I could have ever done together. It taught us a lot about each other, as well as about our relationship and things like “social compromise” and “self-sacrifice” which were total loladult words before late January of 2011. Neither of us had ever had a dog before, and Lu definitely came with a steep learning curve but now I wouldn’t trade her unconditional love and hilarious attitude for anything. Basically, if you’ve been following me for any length of time you’d know that she is clearly our world, and ever since that day she came in, jumped on the windowsill, barked at nothing then promptly jumped down and took a dump on our carpet, I knew it was meant to be.

Jan’s mom knit this cape for Lu and it exactly matches the cowl she made for me. She did this on her own will. This is me letting you all know that I am now in a place from which I can’t return.

My thought is that these leggings are so bright my coworkers won’t notice the hole Luanne put in them this morning.
